In an interdisciplinary approach, members of SFB1565, led by Sonja Lorenz, have discovered that human ubiquitin ligase can label not only cellular proteins with ubiquitin, but also externally added drug-like molecules. These findings could open up new strategies in drug research and biotechnology.
