VAAM PHD Awardness 2026

Christoph Elfmann, member of Jörg Stülke’s research group and funded by SFB1565, was awarded the 2026 VAAM Doctoral Prize for his dissertation titled “Bringing bioinformatics to the bench: SubtiWiki 5.0 and new web tools for research“. Congratulations.

Discover science in a fun way – XLAB and SFB1565 are organizing a special preschool day

The SFB1565 gave the preschoolers from the University Hospital Göttingen’s kindergarten a very special day at the XLAB. There, the children were introduced to the world of science in a playful way and participated with great enthusiasm.

The Lower Saxony Ministry of Science and Culture and the Volkswagen Foundation are funding four cooperation projects with Israel.

Sonja Lorenz is participating with her project “Multidimensional innovation approaches for tapping into allosteric mechanisms in HECT ubiquitin ligases,” which is being carried out in collaboration with Gali Prag, Tel Aviv University, Israel.

Members of the SFB1565 attend the meeting “Wege zum nachhaltigen Labor”

The Green Office of the University of Göttingen hosted a 2-day meeting to discuss strategies for more sustainability in universities and research institutions. Experts and aficionados shared experiences and lessons-learned in applying resource-efficient practices across different fields of science.
