New method provides insight in gene expression in living human cells
Researchers led by Peter Rehling have developed a new method to study gene expression in mitochondria. The method allows a comprehensive temporal monitoring of cellular responses in living human cells.

Brand New: Guide for PIs on maternity protection and parental leave is now available.
The Equal Opportunities Office and the UMG Human Resources Department have jointly produced a guide specifically for managers containing information on maternity protection law and returning to work after parental leave. The realization of the guide was made possible in part with the financial support of our SFB. XLAB Science Festival – Holger Stark presents the power of optics and microscopy to the public at the XLAB Science Festival.
Holger Stark, an expert in cryo-electron microscopy, has achieved remarkable success in resolving protein structures by achieving atomic resolution. His talk showed how advances in microscopy have led to a step-by-step revelation of reality that challenges and extends existing model concepts, and often had to overcome initial resistance from established scientists.
