Project P10
mRNA guard protein-mediated rRNA and snoRNA quality control
About
Guard proteins play key roles during mRNA biogenesis and export as well as in pre-mRNA quality control. In this project we will combine yeast genetics with biochemical interaction studies to address the place and time point of the functional interplay between guard proteins and pre-ribosomal particles, ribosome biogenesis factors and the rRNA degradation machinery. The roles of the guard proteins in pre-ribosomal quality control and their effects on changes in pre-rRNA processing and in the localization of factors involved will further be analyzed.
