Project P06
Regulation of nucleoplasmic steps in gene expression processes by the multifunctional RNA helicase DHX15 and its cofactor network
About
RNA helicases are key regulators of gene expression through their functions in structurally remodeling ribonucleoprotein complexes. The multifunctional RNA helicase DHX15 has emerged as the hub of an interconnected network of G-patch protein cofactors that modulate its catalytic activity and target it to its different cellular functions in pre-mRNA splicing, ribosome assembly and beyond. In this project, we will dissect the mechanisms of alternative splicing regulation by DHX15-G-patch protein complexes and explore how a network of cofactors can fine-tune the diverse functions of an RNA helicase across different cellular pathways.
